Horrorscopes

Facilitator:
Karen Wilson

What would happen if fate really was written in the stars? If your career choices, friends, enemies, lovers were determined by the month of your birth? If the success or failure of all your endeavours was preordained by the alignments of the planets?

Horrorscopes is a player-driven game where we generate a scenario from random headlines, create characters based on astrology, and narrate the outcomes of actions and conflicts by interpreting horoscopes from newspapers. Only the stars know what will happen, and they may have it in for you!

Death of Legends

Death of Legends is a dark-fantasy roleplaying game that tells the story of epic deeds against great odds.

Twenty years have passed since the Enemy was defeated and its armies vanquished.

Twenty long years of peace and prosperity.

But now there are rumours that the Enemy has returned.

War is coming and nobody knows who can be trusted.

This is the story of the last great war against the Enemy.

This is the story of the Death of Legends.

Death of Legends in a GM-less, character driven game in which each player takes the role of a legendary hero, forges their path to greatness, then determines the fate of the Free Territories in a climactic struggle against a relentless, malevolent, Enemy.

The Metal God of Blood Mountain

Facilitator:
Grant Robinson

In the misty morning, at the edge of time, we've lost the rising sun... the final sign!

Seven days ago the sun didn't rise over the land, fortune tellers and seers can no longer see past this evening. It seems that the end of the world approaches, and the Metal God is silent, no longer the guide for people across the world.

Now, huddled at the bottom of Blood Mountain, through the pelting rain you see a thunderous red cloud blanketing the peak of the mountain

Up there lies answers for you... in the house of the Metal God.

Note for Malcolm, this is for surge protection in round two. Or, I guess I could run it in round three if I get to play in round two :) Cheers, Grant

Lady Blackbird

Facilitator:
Mel

Lady Blackbird is on the run from an arranged marriage to Count Carlowe.
She hired a smuggler skyship, The Owl, to take her from her palace on the Imperial world of Ilysium to the far reaches of the
Remnants, so she could be with her once secret lover, the pirate king Uriah Flint.
Just before reaching the halfway point of Haven, The Owl was pursued and captured by the Imperial cruiser, Hand of Sorrow, under charges of flying a false flag.

Ocean

Facilitator:
Ciarán

You wake up cold, in the dark. You are not alone. You can’t remember who you are and you don’t recognize the room you’re in or the people around you. You’re in the ocean, deep underwater in some kind of abandoned research station. Who are you? What is this place and why are you here? What are the strange, monstrous noises coming from the abandoned parts of the Station? What are the creatures that shuffle and splash through the flooded halls and corridors? How will you escape to safety? Can you escape at all?

Night Terrors

Facilitator:
Jenni Sands

Every night you have to listen to your kid, you have to pay attention to what they say and when they say ‘there’s something under the bed’ you have to nod and go find your baseball bat.

Night Terrors is a new game by Jenni Sands and Jack Newhouse, in which you as a parent discover that the monsters under the bed are real and they really really want to eat your children.

Disclaimer: very new game; system may be a bit ropey, may be in playtest, but we'll have fun!

Four Things

Facilitator:
Jenni

Four things is a game for people who want to explore who they are.

It’s a simple, systemless game about ordinary people and examines the quirks and foibles which form our personalities and how we relate to each other. Inspired by games like Grace, Silver and White and a team building exercise.

You choose facts, or Things, off a list and create a character based on those and one from your own life. What makes you who you are? What are you hiding? What are you ashamed of, or what are you keeping secret and why? Everything is a part of who you are and how you relate to other people... it's time to explore that.

(I also have a version set in a horror movie which is an option)

One quiet year, with which to build our community up and learn once again how to work together. Come Winter, the Frost Shepherds will arrive and we might not survive beyond that. But we don’t know about that yet. What we know is that right now, in this moment, there is an opportunity to build something.

These Beasts Have Maiden Faces

Facilitator:
Ivan Towlson

Poseidon, the Earth-Shaker, is angry. Your return from the Trojan War to your homes in Greece has never been smooth, but rarely on your journey have you seen such storms as this. The fair Ismene, daughter of Poseidon’s servant King Alector, has been abducted by dark winged Celaeno, the harpy. Adding insult to injury, Celaeno has transformed Ismene into a foul harpy herself. The Earth-Shaker’s fury knows no bounds, and he commands you to free Ismene and bring her home, restored to her former beauty.

And when the gods command, you obey. Oh, the gods are vain and petty, and mortals are no more than pawns in their games. But their capricious whims are not your concern. Your strong arm and sharp blade will serve when they call – but your reward is glory. The glory of greatness in battle, in word, in spirit – glory that will echo down the ages in poem and song. That is why you sweat and bleed for the mighty gods.

But only one of you can go down in legend as the victor over the harpies. Who among you will be immortalised with their own star in the heavens? And whose grave will be forgotten along with their deeds? Enter the agon, and prove the glory of your name.
